Kristen Anne Bell is an American actress and performer born in 1980. Bell is a Michigan native who was born and raised by her parents, Lorelei Frygier (a nurse) and Tom Bell (a TV news director). Her birthplace was in Michigan's Huntington Woods with a Polish mother and a father who has a mix of German, English Irish, Scottish, and Irish. Kristen was already a talented entertainer in the early stages. She went to her audition in 1992 and was offered an appearance on Raggedy Ann, and Andy. Bell's mom introduced her to an agent when she was 13 and she was cast for television and newspaper commercials. Along with having private lessons in acting, she launched her career around that time. Bell played an uncredited part on Polish Wedding (1998), the film that was released in 1998. Bell studied at Shrine Catholic High School where she participated in the music and drama club. Bell was chosen to play the lead role of Dorothy at her school's play The Wizard of Oz. Bell was then transferred in New York City, to the Tisch School of the Arts. She was a musical theatre student at the Tisch School of the Arts. The year 2001 was the time Bell left university to portray the character as Becky on Tom Sawyer. Bell made her debut film credit with Pootie Tang in 2001. The scene however it was cut and her appearance only appears in the final credits. Bell was seen alongside Angela Bettis and Liam Neeson in 2002's Broadway revival of The Crucible.
